LOUIS-JEANTET PHD FELLOWSHIPS
FOR YOUNG RESEARCHERS FROM EASTERN EUROPE

From 1998 to 2008, the Louis-Jeantet Foundation annually awarded two fellowships to young researchers from Eastern European countries that are members of the European Council, to enable them to earn their PhD at the

European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL).

The Foundation thus supported promising young scientists at the outset of their academic careers. It helped to set up a European network of first class scientists with whom the Louis-Jeantet fellows may interact, and to revive science in the countries concerned.

As young researchers from these countries now have access to the facilities offered by the European Union, the Foundation has decided to sponsor

new programmes of a pioneering nature.
