Jason Carroll obtained his B.Sc. at University of Melbourne, Australia, and Ph.D. from the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. His postdoctoral work was with Prof. Myles Brown at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School. He is currently senior group leader at Cancer Research UK and University of Cambridge and is a fellow of Clare College, University of Cambridge. He is a member of the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO).
Dr. Carroll is interested in understanding how Estrogen Receptor mediates gene transcription in breast cancer. His focus is on the DNA regulatory elements and the critical proteins in this process, with an emphasis on defining what happens during drug resistance. He is actively involved in developing new strategies for therapeutic exploitation of these findings.
